Recently, we’ve purchased dynamic plant simulator from Yokogawa, namely OmegaLand Simulation. This simulator will be used as Operator Training Simulator (OTS) to train plant operator how to operate the plant and deal with unpredicted malfunction or scenarios.

The architecture of OTS is as follow:

The heart of the plant simulator is Process Model PC running Visual Modeler software. This software implement and simulate the plant model built by refering to marked-up P&ID

The Process Model PC then can be connected through TCP/IP network communication to DCS comprises of FCS (Field Control Station) Simulator and HIS (Human Interface Station); thus accessible for trainees to operate the “virtual” plant.
